Avant-Garde and Jazz photos

DOWNTOWNMUSIC.NET is a web archive of the photograph Peter Gannushkin. It features images from avant-garde, creative and improvised music happening primarily in New York City clubs and festivals. Since 2000, the photos of Peter Gannushkin have appeared in JazzTimes, All About Jazz, Time Out New York, The Wire, Signal to Noise, Coda and many other printed media.

His photos have been used on CD covers for Tzadik, Leo, ESP-Disk, Red Toucan, FMR among others. They have also been used for numerous on-line publications and web sites. The photo portraits of club curators by Peter Gannushkin decorate the walls at The Stone. His photographs are featured in the Vision Festival Peace Book, were displayed as a part of the Vision Festival X photo exhibit and appear on VisionFestival.org.
